Local Produce Sales and Promotion Associates!

20 Valley Harvest Farms is a family farm in Jordan Station, Ontario (Niagara Region). Our main focus is cherries – both sweet cherries and sour/tart cherries. We run a popular pick-your-own and on-farm fruit and vegetable markets. The majority of visitors to the pick-your-own cherry farm are from the Greater Toronto Area. Our farm is conveniently located on the way to Niagara Falls and we are a popular stop for tourists seeking an on-farm experience.

Part-time and full-time positions available from mid-June to the end of July.

Key responsibilities:

Team members will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the pick-your-own cherry operation and two on-farm markets. This position provides an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in small-scale agri-tourism and agri-business sales and promotion.

  • Direct-to-consumer sales and customer service, including up-selling
  • Manage weekday pick-your-own operations
  • Provide orientation sessions for customers
  • Manage inventory and maintain sales records
  • Set up and take down displays
  • Catalogue and respond to customer inquiries
  • Lead on-farm demonstrations
  • Assist with Season Opening Event
  • Sort and pack fruit and vegetables for sale
  • Other duties as required

  • Able to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Good decision making ability
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willing to work weekends and occasional evenings
  • Willing to work outdoors (mostly under a tent)
  • Requires the ability to lift 35 lbs

Additional skills (considered an asset but not essential):

  • Valid drivers license an asset
  • Awareness of local food, fruit or horticulture an asset
  • Previous retail sales experience an asset
  • Experience driving a cargo van is an asset
  • Second language an asset especially: Farsi, Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Filipino, Polish and French

Volunteer With Us!

Horticulture and gardening volunteers are always welcome.

We are currently seeking an intern to plan a Native Species Pollinator Garden.

Nutrition, health and agriculture post-secondary students can gain experience and understanding while working on projects that help us educate the public on healthy living, food security, sustainability and the environment.

We are always open to having volunteers on the farm and we welcome new ideas! Please contact us to share your skills.
