Sweet Cherries

Our SWEET CHERRY pick-your-own orchards are typically open in July. The ripening dates and length of the season depends on Mother Nature.

Please see the Picking Conditions section below for information on pick-your-own

Please check frequently for updates. Ripening times depend on Mother Nature and vary each year.

Sour Cherries

This variety of sour cherries is more sour when the fruit is lighter colour. If you want them most sour then choose the lighter coloured sour cherries, which are inside the tree. The darker ones on the outside of the tree will be more sweet. Typically, sour cherry season lasts between 3 and 5 weeks.

Please read the Picking Conditions section for information on pick-your-own

Montmorency
Sour Cherries

Our sour cherries are montmorency variety, which originate in France. They are different (less sour) than the varieties of sour cherries which are grown in Persia. The lighter coloured sour cherries are more sour and the darker coloured sour cherries are more sweet with this variety.

Minimum purchase of $8.00 per person over the age of 3. Must purchase basket sizes from the list below to meet the minimum purchase for your group, for example a group of 3 must spend a minimum of $24 on pick-your-own.

There is a 1.5 hour time limit in the orchard. There are no refunds or exchanges.

We have implemented a basket fee, in addition to the cost of fruit, in order to keep prices lower despite increased costs. This means that if you bring your own basket, you won’t pay the basket fee. That said, your basket needs to look like one of our basket options and sizes to enter the orchard. Baskets that do not look like these or are sized differently, will not be allowed in the orchard. The good news is that you can save your basket for use next year to save the fee!

Basket fees are as follows: $2 for paper baskets with wooden handles (3L, 4L or 7L sizes), $3 for wooden 7L baskets.

Before You Arrive

Dogs are not permitted in the orchard. Dogs on-leash are welcome in the parking lot but must be supervised by their owner at all times. We recommend leaving your dog at home.

Planning your visit to a farm checklist from Farm Fresh Ontario.

Please review this farm etiquette guide before visiting a farm.

The best way to store cherries is unwashed in your refrigerator. Wash your cherries right before you eat or process them, but not before you store them as washing affects the natural cuticle of the cherry skin and will cause them to spoil faster. We recommend bringing a cooler to transport your cherries back home. If you pick cherries in the rain, then it’s best to dry them on a tea towel at home before putting them in the fridge. Refrigerate cherries in a breathable container, such as cardboard, and not in a plastic bag. Do not leave cherries on the counter. They will not ripen more off the tree (like other fruits do). Grocery store cherries are often treated with a chemical to give them a longer shelf life.
